Welcome to the Dorchester County Public Library: Cambridge or Hurlock Branches!

The Friends of the Library are currently accepting donated materials at the Central Branch on the first and second Saturday of each month from 9am-1pm. Materials should be in good condition and limited to two boxes at a time. We cannot accept encyclopedias, textbooks, or any damaged items. If you have any questions, please contact the library.

*Please note: We are not currently hiring. It has come to our attention that various websites through a Google search have copied over some of our previous job postings and listed them as available jobs. However, we only list our job openings on indeed.com. Please check through that site if interested in seeking employment with us and make sure to search Dorchester County Public Library, Maryland. We have received several calls about us hiring and people submitting applications, but they are most likely going to the Dorchester County Library in South Carolina.

Happening at the Library

There are always programs and events happening at the Dorchester County Public Libraries! For a complete list of programs, events, and closures visit our calendar, Facebook, and Instagram for the latest updates. If you prefer a quieter experience at our library branches, we recommend visiting during school hours up to 3:00pm or Saturday mornings, from 9-11am (at the Cambridge branch). Wednesdays are busy program days at both branches, with noisier mornings (around Story Time) and busier after-school times at the Cambridge branch (around Teen Anime Club). Please plan accordingly or call either branch for further recommendations.
