Join the Friends of the Dorchester County Public Library

The Friends of the Dorchester County Public Library is organized to bring together those who value their public library.

As a volunteer, non-profit organization, the Friends help the library achieve its operational goals, encourage giving for the benefit of the library, and work to enhance the community through library programs.

Our funds are raised through:

  • Memberships

  • Donations

  • Monthly Book Sales

In recent years we have:

  • Raised thousands of dollars through the sale of used books

  • Purchased library equipment and collection and reference materials

  • Sponsored book discussion groups, children’s summer reading programs, and lecture series

  • Fostered quality family programming

  • Provided furnishings for the Meeting Room

  • Advocated for library concerns in the community
